LOST: The End — A series for the ages

Lost

That’s all folks, it’s been a great series, but all good things must come to an end. Last night the Television series, Lost, concluded its run with a 4 1/2 hour finale (a 2 hour recap, and a 2 1/2 hour final episode). The episode was great, and ended on a great note, but with multiple questions still left unanswered, but that’s ok, because it just wouldn’t be Lost if they had.

Lost was a great show that had everything. The plot, the characters, the setting, it was all executed almost flawlessly. The development of story that we saw was outstanding, and the character development was even greater. Hell, sometimes it seemed like the plot was a  character itself.

Spoiler Alert!

If you haven’t seen the ending, then read no further I’m not going to give away all of it, just some, but I still fell that I have to warn you.

Let’s talk about the episode itself. It turns out that I was completely wrong about the ending (to read my final theories that I came of with before “The End” aired, click here). I didn’t see the flash sideways being the afterlife, I thought we were done with that theory after season 3. I would of much rather seen the ending go the way I thought it would have, but this was ok too.

Despite the show having such a great ending, it left a lot of questions unanswered, and left it up to the viewer to decipher the series. But that’s what lost is, Speculation, but that’s half the fun of Lost, the show is open for interpretation. If they explained everything then it just wouldn’t be Lost, and the show wouldn’t have as much value in time as it does as of now. It truly is a great work of television art.

After you look past all the mysteries, and questions, look at the characters. They are the true part of the story that make it such a great story. Enjoy the story for what it is, and don’t get too caught up in the little things till after a few episodes. Then go ahead and speculate.

Still confused? Have a question on the series? How did you feel about “The End”? Let me know in the comments.
