happy-america-day

Today is July, 4th, 2010, Independence Day, America’s 234th anniversary as a union. On this day, I would like you to celebrate just by having fun, being happy, and most importantly, by speaking your mind. That’s what it means to be an American, no matter where you’re from.

BestBuy — You Just Pwned Yourself

July 2, 2010 Business
bestbuy - thanks for living up to the corporate stereotype

Have you ever seen those XtraNormal videos on YouTube? The videos that put two 3D animated characters in a dialog, to a script that you write yourself, with computer generated voices. Well, as the picture that you see indicates, one of these videos got BestBuy Employee, 25 year old, Brian Maupin fired. The video displays a character who REALLY wants an iPhone 4, and is obviously an iPhone fangirl. She is talking to the store clerk about it who lets her know that they are all out, but it seems that this girl just won’t have it. You’ll have to watch the video.

Sea monster remains found in Peruvian desert

July 1, 2010 Random
seamonster

Thank the Lord this thing is extinct, or evolution may have taken its toll and this thing might be even bigger today. At the time of it’s existence (12 to 13 million years ago) the “Leviathan Melvillei” was three times the size of a Killer Whale. Who wants to mess with a creature with teeth the size of toddler?

You know what's not awesome? fangirls

There are a lot of things in this world that I don’t understand, but lately there have been three main things that are just horrible that have been in the news, and they all have one thing in common. Fangirls. What are these three things, you ask? Twilight, Chris Brown, and Justin Bieber.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Official Trailer

June 29, 2010 Entertainment
harry potter and the deathly hallows trailer

We are almost to the end of a series of movies based on a series of books that ended three years ago. The Harry Potter movies have mostly lived up to their literary counterparts, some hit, some miss. But this movie (or should I say movies?) looks like it’s going to live up to the Deathly Hallows name. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 will be released on November of 2010, and part 2 will be shown in July of 2011.

Toy Story 3 review — A sequel that beats the sequel

June 23, 2010 Entertainment
Toy Story 3

We see it every day. A sequel to a movie is made that probably shouldn’t have been, and then even worse, a sequel to that movie comes out. The movie currently in review is not one of those cases. Yes, Pixar has done it again, they have created another masterpiece, and this year the movie is the final part of a series that I don’t think anyone expected a third movie out of — Toy Story.

WordPress 3.0 — A sight for sore eyes

June 17, 2010 Tech
wordpress-logo

The long anticipated version of the greatest blogging platform has been released. Wordpress 3.0 “Thelonious” is truly a sight for sore eyes. I’ve never worked on a platform that I thought could beat Wordpress, and now with 3.0, the other guys have some work to do. The interface is less cluttered, and has a load of new features that will kill the competition.

PlayStation Move — E3 2010 Coverage

June 16, 2010 Tech
PlayStation-Move-Motion

This is the PlayStation Move, another big step for motion gaming. It uses the PlayStation Eye to track the controller(s) so that they move exactly with the game. I don’t yet have a PS3 (yet, I’ve been close to broke for months), but this would be a great reason to get one. Each of the systems is bringing some great motion control to itself (or in the Wii’s cas, it already has), but the PlayStation Move is taking a more hardcore gaming approach to it.
